Yeah you are. A kid running around screaming for another kid and not paying attention would have drawn more attention if there was a real shooting. A calm on the outside teacher though? One who in theory had been schooled in at least tense situations (and in this day and age probably similar scenarios), who would’ve done everything he could to draw away the potential shooters from class room of kids at the same time quietly go to Brittany as soon and safely as he could. No matter that they’re boyfriend/girlfriend (and that Sam could/is a badass/strong/courageous, doesn’t matter he’s still just a boy), I’m pretty sure Brittany was more comforted by the fact a teacher, a person she looked up to and had always believed would look out for her and being the authority figure, had come for her than her boyfriend or any of her other friends.

Look, I have been doing a lot of thinking about the comment Puck made in this episode this morning.

And it is not what he said generally, because we all knew that (unless we are twelve), but this was the first time Glee verbally stated it, and it made everything really fucking much realer. Now we know the rates, which matches the ones for fairly regular prostitution. Now we know it isn’t even just about a cloak for pool-cleaning anymore. There’s no use in hiding or denying anymore. And that makes a difference, no matter how much we all have known beforehand.

It isn’t about the prostitution. I have nothing against the sex industry. Go on, do as you please.

But Puck made this decision when he was sixteen years old, at maximum. Probably younger. I was sixteen nearly four years ago, and looking back I just know I would never have been able to consciously make such a decision and be ready to face the consequences. I don’t think any teenager can.

And another thing that bothers me: The fact that those women were regular, everyday women, paying a kid to fuck them. Do you even know how that looks and sounds? Let’s have them genderswap this! Let’s see how funny this is if they made it with Quinn. Or any female character, having sex with 40 year old men. Or any character that wasn’t Puck. Do you feel kind of nauseous now? Yeah, trust me, I get it.

Third thing: His self-esteem. This has been a major issue; he is a person who feels really bad about himself. Doesn’t feel he is worth anything. It is fairly easy to assume that he thinks this is what he has going for him. People only want him for a warm body in bed. For a person with Puck’s self-esteem, this profession is not one I would recommand.

But oh well, Glee obviously think this so funny they are roaring with laughter, so I will just have to settle and deal, I guess. But that’s not easy.

The writers have always been this way, sadly so it’s nothing new. Remember Brittany’s throwaway line on how she lost her virginity? It was done just for laughs and for people to go “Oh Brittany.” Glee seems to think that just because you’re promiscuous means you’ve always been that way and deserve it. So with Brittany and Puck, who were always seen as people who slept with the whole school without a care (or made out with the whole school), and to same extent Santana, it’s supposed to be part of their nature, and people aren’t supposed to blink at WHY they’re that way.

I’m pretty sure Puck’s been crying out for help in his way and no one’s listened. The only time was when other people were involved, like in Props. He knows being violent will get people’s attention, and besides accidentally impregnating someone, he doesn’t get called out for all the sex. He’s smart, he did have a legit pool cleaning business and profited and could probably do well. But who’s there to listen to him when he’s down, or struggling? No one. So yeah, I agree.

The ONLY positive thing I found in that little exchange, and no way anyone can deny it. Is Puck’s become bi/pan. He was propositioning the couple. Not just the girl, as he looked at both of them. And he seemed pretty happy about it, not a desperation for having a guy there (even if he’s seemingly desperate enough to be pimping himself out as blatantly as he’s doing), but like it’d be fun too. But even that small joy is not enough to see poor Puck just doing what he knows best, both putting himself out there and keeping the routine, and no one giving a damn.
